Class Movie 1: The Jungle Book

This past summer, my class went out to the movies and saw "The Jungle Book"
It tells the tale of an orphaned boy named Mowgli living in a remote part of the
jungle. He befriends a bear named Baloo.
I can't give a review of this since I was out sick with a bad cough and didn't get
a chance to see it. My classmates reported back and said they enjoyed it alot. I
did see the 1967 animated version when I was little. My favorite character in the
 movie is Baloo.

My Bittersweet Saturday in Oakland

      My Bittersweet Saturday in Oakland:

Going to see the Oakland A's play has always been fun for me. But today was
the worst day I've ever had at a baseball game. Since they were playing the NY
Yankees I didn't think nothing much of it. Until it started filling up with NY fans
in my section. I wondered where did they come from?
[edit: most likely transplanted fans that bought tickets from resellers.]

Every time they scored on us, they cheered loudly. To vent my frustrations,
I booed as loud as I could at them making sure I wasn't going to put up with their
behavior. To make it even worse some NY putz brought two vuvuzelas with him
and blew them when they scored. It got really obnoxious quite fast.
Even though they lost the game, I had a good time hanging out with my cousin.

I had a bad cough that day so it made me feel tired. On top of that, after I finished
my lemonade, I coughed up alot of phlegm.

To make up for the bad time that I had, we went out to eat at a local sports bar called
Masse's. Me and my cousin Eric played ping-pong, bean bag game called cornhole,
and a little shuffleboard. My dad ordered a BLT club sandwich for me, but didn't have
much of an appetite til later on that night when we got home. Me and Eric played Star
Wars video game where we shot Stormtroopers, pretending to be those obnoxious Yankee
fans at the game.

Star Wars : The Force Awakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Director: J.J. Abrams
Cast: Daisy Ridley, Oscar Issac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Harrison Ford,
     Domnhall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie

Thirty years after the last movie is a long time for a franchise that still keeps
making money. In Episode VII: The Force Awakens, we find our hero, Rey (Ridley),
a plucky young woman who is stranded on a desert like planet called Jakku. She
dreams of being somebody. Until one day, she meets a soccer ball sized droid, BB8,
who carries a secret message. She learns that the Evil Empire is after the droid.
Along the way, she meets a former Imperial Stormtrooper named Finn (Boyega)
who defected after refusing to carry out orders to kill innocent civilians. Finn
befriends a Rebel pilot Poe (Isaac) and become close friends. Rey, Finn and Poe
join forces with the legendary bounty hunter Han Solo (Ford) and Wookie pal
  Chewbacca.
They are pursued by their evil leader Kylo Ren (Driver), a Jedi obsessed
with honoring Darth Vader's legacy and wants to follow in his footsteps.
Director JJ Abrams is good at making scifi films but his overused of lens
flares becomes quite distracting. The plot structure is very close to the original
A New Hope. The acting is good and the characters are fun to watch as well.
I couldn't help but feel like this movie has more loose ends than a tailors shop.
Perhaps, the plots for the next movie will tie those up.

Do I believe in aliens ?

Jabba the Hutt (Star Wars)

Admiral Ackbar (Star Wars)

scary alien

I think that there are aliens in our universe ever since the famed  crash landing
in Roswell New Mexico in 1947. The discovery of hundreds of other galaxies
outside of our own only makes it more plausible. The fact that SETI has been
trying to contact them through radio signals we may one day be able to speak
with them. They will visit us one day when we least expect it.

Deadpool

Deadpool
Dir: Tim Miller
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina
Carano, Leslie Uggams, Breanna Hildebrand

Taking place in the X-Men universe, Deadpool is based on character of the same
name. Ryan Reynolds stars as Wade Wilson, a hitman who one day gets diagnosed
with terminal cancer. Upon learning this, he volunteers himself to be a guinea pig
for a shady organization that can cure him but for a price. In doing so, it disfigures
him and turns him into a wisecracking assassin.

With the help of two X-Men (Colossus & Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Deadpool
goes on a killing spree looking for the Francis (Skrein), the man who permanently
  scarred him for life.

Despite the graphic nature of the film, some of the 4th wall breaking jokes were
utterly hilarious. It's a movie that doesn't take itself seriously and had a good message
about accepting someone for who they are.

Deadpool was stuck in developmental hell for a decade and it's a movie
worthy of your time. It's easily one of my favorite superhero movies of the year.

Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War

Dir: The Russo Bros.
Cast: Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan,
Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman

In the new movie, Captain America: Civil War, the government wants to put restrictions
on the Avengers after causing many innocent lives lost due to defending the Earth from
  sinister forces.
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) supports this cause along with other super powered
individuals.Captain America (Chris Evans) has conflicting ideas about it while trying to
protect his best friend Bucky from having to answer for his crimes while brainwashed by
the evil organization, Hydra.
Bucky goes on the run after being framed for the murder of Black Panther's father by
a mysterious man with a hidden agenda. We also get to see what happened to Tony's
parents long before he became Iron Man.
While the movie is long, sadly it suffers from the third movie syndrome. The action
scenes are few and far between. The plot felt dragged out almost to the point of boredom.
I felt that there were too many plots going on while trying to set up other films to come.
The surprise villain of the film was mostly forgettable, looking nothing like his
 comic book counterpart.
The good parts of the movie were the funny one liners and the introduction of
Spider Man. The battle at the airport was pretty fun to watch. This felt more like
Avengers 2.5 than a Captain America movie. This is my favorite MCU movie
of the year.
I had high expectations for this movie but felt it didn't live up to it.All in all it
was pretty mediocre just not as good as CA: The Winter Soldier.
