Super Bowl LIV- my take

Super Bowl LIV- my take

While it was disappointing to see the 49ers lose the Super Bowl for the second time,
the team surpassed expectations the previous season. To go from 4-12 record to a 13-3
   record is quite the accomplishment.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo played a full season since tearing his ACL last year and the
drafting of star defensive end Nick Bosa really helped the team become better. While I
do congratulate the Chiefs on winning the big game, it will give the Niners motivation
to do better and return to the big game.

I do think the refs had it out for them. Case in point, the holding penalty by Eric
Fisher so Pat Mahomes could throw it deep was never called and allowed the Chiefs
to score. The NFL is a star driven league and what better way to prove that by
promoting Mahomes as the face of the league and gracing the cover of the last
    football video game and magazines.

While I realize that Chiefs winning coincided with the NFL's 100th anniversary,
the league is starting to become almost scripted. The more this happens, the more
fans should tune out or have the league investigated on rigging charges but I quite
frankly, don't see that happening as the money will keep flowing in.

RIP Kobe Bryant (1978-2020)

Kobe Bryant (1978-2020)

It is with heavy heart that retired the retired NBA superstar along with his daughter
Gigi have passed away in a helicopter crash. Since being drafted in the 1997, Kobe's rise
to super stardom began when he took his Lakers team to dominance in the 2000's and
   creating a dynasty.
Kobe's career was tarnished by a scandal in 2003 when he was accused of rape by
a young groupie looking to get famous. Although the case was later dropped, Kobe
also had a feud with fellow teammate Shaq.
He not only was great player but also inspired a generation of younger players for
   an unquenchable fire and grit.

49ers: Playoff Edition

Image result for 49ers

The 49ers are back in the playoffs for the first time since Jim Harbaugh was coach.
They will faceoff against Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings at Levis Stadium.
Even though the 49ers are #1 seed, I see them barely eking out a win since they had
    trouble against the dreaded Seahawks.
Star tight end George Kittle should be deadly in the passing game as long as Jimmy
G gets rid of the ball faster in the pocket. Jimmy has Deebo Samuel to throw to.
On the defensive side, end Dee Ford and linebacker Kwon Alexander return from
being out for most of the season. Personally I think the 9ers are rushing them back
since the body needs time to heal.
Luckily star rookie Nick Bosa will pressure Cousins into throwing the ball away
and causing interceptions for Richard Sherman.

Fighting with my Family

Fighting with my Family
Dir: Stephen Merchant
Cast: Florence Pugh, Lena Heady, Nick Frost, Vince Vaughn, Dwayne Johnson

Fighting with my Family isn't just a movie about wrestling. It's message conveys the
importance of sticking to one's dreams and never giving up.
Newcomer Florence Pugh stars as real life WWE wrestler Paige, a young woman
who follows her dreams to become a professional wrestler. Veteran actors Heady
(Game of Thrones) and Frost (Hot Fuzz) star as her parents who encourage her
to keep going despite facing many adversities.
After growing up in a family of wrestlers, Paige wants to be just like her idol,
The Rock (D. Johnson). She starts out wrestling in her family's wrestling ring in
England and tries out for the WWE.
She flies out to the United States to WWE's version of boot camp and begins
to realize that wrestling is harder than it looks. Despite almost giving up, she
gets words of encouragement from her trainer (Vaughn) and just wants to make
   her and her family proud.
FwmF may not winning any awards but it's good movie for someone looking
   to be inspired.

New NBA Champs

I would like to congratulate the Golden State Warriors on a successful playoff run
to the NBA Finals. It was no easy series playing against the hated Cleveland Cavaliers.
Their star forward Kevin Durant won an MVP award along with winning the title. Now
he can silence the haters that say he just signed with them to win a ring. In fact, Golden
St. needed him to combat against LeBron & Kyrie Irving.

It was a much deserved win for him after playing in Oklahoma City and coming up
short of a title. After winning the first 3 games, the Warriors lost game 4 due to bad
officiating and lackluster play and Cleveland took advantage of that. Losing that
game meant they had to win at home at the Oracle in front of the raucous crowd
  of fans.

To paraphrase wrestler Ric Flair, "to be the best, you have to beat the best." Cleveland
failed to do that, and accept defeat. The Warriors were the better team and they showed
that. May they win more titles in the near future. As long as they keep their main core
intact they will be tough to beat.

My brush with a 49er Great (True Story)

One day, our cousin had offered us tickets to go see the 49ers play at the now demolished
Candlestick Park. Being the huge 49ers fan that I am, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity
not to. Wearing my 49ers jersey, me and my Dad drove to Candlestick to watch them play.
After being patted down by security, we went inside just in time for the game to begin.
Little did I know that something amazing was about to happen.

We had gotten our seats and sat down when in the corner of my eye, I start seeing
policemen escorting someone around the stadium. I couldn't make out who it was.
All of a sudden they start walking up the aisle I was sitting in. Then that moment
I recognize who it was. It was 49ers legend Steve Young. Coming up my way and
walking past me, the only thing I could muster up was "I'm a big fan Steve."

Turning around to look at me, he smiled and said "Thanks". I was completely
starstruck when he spoke to me. The jersey I wore that day was of Steve Young's.
I learned later that they were going to retire his number at the game. Even though
they lost, it was a day I'll never forget.

Golden St. Warriors

I just want to congratulate the Golden State Warriors on a record breaking season and
deep playoff run to the NBA Finals. This was a hard fought Finals between the Warriors
and Cleveland Cavaliers.
I felt that this series was rigged in favor of the Cavs due to them not winning any
championship in any sport in almost 50 years. The Warriors were the hated team during
the playoffs and they fed off of that. Both the NBA and Cavaliers got their storybook
ending. The refs weren't doing the Warriors any favors themselves.
There were many factors that caused this team to give up this series. This includes the
injury to Andrew Bogut, Stephen Curry not playing like himself, letting Harrison Barnes
miss shots during crucial times and letting Draymond Green hit people that caused him
to be suspended for a game. The Cavs took advantage of this and this is why they won.
The only reason the Warriors won last year was because the Cavs had Kyrie and Love
hurt during the playoffs which gave them a slight advantage. So if you have any doubt
about the team, hold your head up high Warrior fans. As long as we retain our core
players, we will make another run back to the NBA Finals.

My Bittersweet Saturday in Oakland

      My Bittersweet Saturday in Oakland:

Going to see the Oakland A's play has always been fun for me. But today was
the worst day I've ever had at a baseball game. Since they were playing the NY
Yankees I didn't think nothing much of it. Until it started filling up with NY fans
in my section. I wondered where did they come from?
[edit: most likely transplanted fans that bought tickets from resellers.]

Every time they scored on us, they cheered loudly. To vent my frustrations,
I booed as loud as I could at them making sure I wasn't going to put up with their
behavior. To make it even worse some NY putz brought two vuvuzelas with him
and blew them when they scored. It got really obnoxious quite fast.
Even though they lost the game, I had a good time hanging out with my cousin.

I had a bad cough that day so it made me feel tired. On top of that, after I finished
my lemonade, I coughed up alot of phlegm.

To make up for the bad time that I had, we went out to eat at a local sports bar called
Masse's. Me and my cousin Eric played ping-pong, bean bag game called cornhole,
and a little shuffleboard. My dad ordered a BLT club sandwich for me, but didn't have
much of an appetite til later on that night when we got home. Me and Eric played Star
Wars video game where we shot Stormtroopers, pretending to be those obnoxious Yankee
fans at the game.
